TechSuit by MuslimSpot
Tools for running a small business, priced in the open. Built for solo founders and small teams, and open to anyone who likes the products and the pricing.
TimeTracer is available today. CRM, SmartDoc and AutoSEO are in development.
Who this is for
The Muslim community is who we build for first and most want to see succeed. Anyone who likes the products and the pricing is welcome to use them.
The reader we design for is one person running one business. A freelancer invoicing by the hour. A founder with two employees and no operations department. The defaults suit that person. Larger organisations are welcome, and nothing here is built to keep them out.
The purpose is to help you stand on your own feet.
Pricing, data and cancellation are decided against that test. The three commitments below are what it produces.
What we commit to
We would rather under-promise and deliver. Each one says what it costs us in practice.
Every charge is visible before it happens.
No hidden fees, no surprise renewals, no charge you cannot see and account for. Cancelling is as easy as signing up.
We charge for real work done, not for what you could be pushed to tolerate.
No dark patterns. No feature held hostage to force an upgrade you do not need.
Anything still in development is labelled as such.
TimeTracer is available. CRM, SmartDoc and AutoSEO are in development, and there is no release date for any of them.
We want the Muslim community to be our customers and to do well, and we want MuslimSpot to be somewhere Muslim entrepreneurs find each other.
We build according to Islamic ethical teaching, and we will not sell or promote anything haram through our products.
MuslimSpot holds no Shariah certification and issues no religious rulings. There is no scholarly board and no membership scheme. This is the direction of the company, stated as intent.
The suite
MuslimSpot builds all of them. Each one stands on its own.

How we work
The people who write the code answer the mail. A question about one product goes to the people who work on that product, and the suite page lists the address for each.
Decisions about the products and about this site are written down before they are acted on, with the reasoning and the alternatives that lost.

Owning your own infrastructure, and when not to
The case for running your own server is not that it is cheaper. It is that you can answer questions about it. Here is what that buys, and the four things it costs.

Moving an app onto single-node Kubernetes, no downtime
A production app moved onto k3s on a box that was already serving traffic. What had to be decided first, which secrets could not be regenerated, and the order of the cutover.

Running a mail server that actually reaches the inbox
Sending mail from your own server is easy. Having it arrive is the hard part. What we set up, in what order, and the two things we do not send ourselves.
